Next Spring, we will introduce our brand new ‘Pick UR Own’ strawberry patch at Southern Belle Farms. This should be an exciting time for us as we prepare the fields, plant and get the crop ready for you to come pick. You’ve come to expect the best from Southern Belle Farms and with the addition of ‘Pick UR Own’ strawberries, we are adding to that tradition.

So, watch this site for news about our progress and the opening dates of strawberry season.

Boy Scout and Girl Scout Patches

We now have patches to offer to our scout troops. Each troop can get in at our group rate of $11 per person which includes the patches and all of our activities offered at admission. We look forward to seeing all of you!

Well it is now September and it is getting closer to time to open the maize. Everyone is calling so excited about the maize and all the activities we have this year. Jake has the pig track up and running he has been working with the pigs to race around the track for oreos and chocolate milk. They are doing great! Our goats have ajusted to the goat walk and love it! We can’t wait for you to see them! The pumpkins are growing and the cotton is getting ready to bloom. The corn is just about ready for everyone to get lost in it! We can’t wait to see everyone this year! Our haunted hay ride starts the first Friday of October and goes through the end of the month. We have added a couple of different things this year so it should be even more thrilling!! Tell all your friends and family to come out and make lots of memories! We look forward to seeing you!

August 2007 at Southern Belle Farm

Well it has been hot and dry! We are in desperate need of rain. Jake has been watering the corn and pumpkins day and night! It is looking great but could use some rain drops! Jake and Mr. Jerry having been working on the pig house for Oinker Stadium! It is going to be great! The pigs will love it! This will be their stationary place in between the pig races! We are planning to get the pigs in the next couple of weeks along with some goats! Before we know it we will be open for everyone to see all the new attractions and to get lost in the new maize design for this year! We are looking forward to seeing everyone again! The next big project is the Kiddie Corral. Jake is adding new things for kids this year, I know they will enjoy it all! Can’t wait to see you in September!

July at Southern Belle Farm

Well this month sure has been busy here at Southern Belle Farm.

We have planted the pumpkins and they are coming along very well. We did a 2 acre pumpkin patch this year. The corn has been planted for the maize and the design has already been done.

So we’re moving right along just waiting to see how great the maize will look when the corn grows alittle higher. Jake has also been working very hard on a goat walk for the kids to enjoy and a new way for goats to show off their climbing skills!

Goats love to climb you know so this will be great! This is a really great addition to Southern Belle Farm this Fall.

Jake’s next project is the pig races. More updates will follow on this project. We look forward to sharing all of these wonderful additions to our farm will all of our friends!

The Farmers here on Southern Belle Farm are in the process of designing the MAiZE for our Fall 2007 season. We just completed our cotton planting and we will be deciding soon on the varieties of pumpkins to plant for our fresh off the farm pumpkin patch. The weather here in McDonough, Georgia has been warm and dry.
