Southern Belle Farm in McDonough, GA hosts a variety of events on the farm.  The seasonal events include live entertainment, outdoor concerts, family fun festivals and activities, old-time demonstrations, antique shows and much more!   Please Note: Event dates/times are subject to change.

2013 Schedule of Events …

May 4, 2013 | Spring Scout Day on the Farm  10am

Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts are invited to explore Southern Belle Farm during the springtime.  Growing crops, tending the animals and all the farm chores that come along with it.  Finishing with a special visit to the Strawberry Patch where scouts will get to pick fresh strawberries from the patch.  Group reservations are required for this special event.

September 21-22, 2013 | Teacher’s Appreciation Weekend

Teachers are invited to come spend the day on the farm and explore the agriculture education that is provided, and see how hands-on learning at Southern Belle Farm can be a fun twist to the school curriculum.  Teacher can be admitted free this weekend with a valid school ID or pay check stub.

September 28-29, 2013  | Grandparents Weekend

Grandparents are invited to come spend quality time on the farm with their grandchildren.  Explore the outdoors.  Have fun together on the tons of farm activities!  Grandmothers attending with their grandchildren will receive a special gift from the farm.

October 5, 2013 |  3rd Annual Save the Udders Day  & Diva Dash 5K

Farm goers are encourage to wear pink for a special discount, and breast cancer survivors will be honored with free admission on this day.  A special program on breast cancer awareness honoring survivors with a guest speaker will be followed by a pink parade and a pink balloon release. This is an event for the whole family and begins at 11am.  Diva Dash time TBD.

October 12, 2013 |  3rd Annual Hometown HERO Day  11 – 3pm

Hometown HERO Day at Southern Belle Farm is honoring our local  public servants.  Active & retired military, law enforcement, fire/EMTs will be admitted free to the farm on this day if in uniform or with valid ID.  Military family members with military ID will receive the military discounted price for admission.  Service members only are admitted free.  There’s fun festivities from 11 – 3pm, including fire safety house, life flight helicopter, and local hometown hero’s available for kids to get to meet and say ‘thank you’ to them for their service, and see safety equipment and vehicles.

October 19, 2013 | 5th Annual Farm Heritage Day  10am – 6pm

‘A simpler way of life’ will be displayed by the numerous exhibitors and demonstrators.  Special exhibits will be available from 10am – 6pm.   Exhibits include: blacksmithing, dairy cow milking, quilting, sewing, herb harvesting, honey making, unique handmade jewelry, clothing etc.  Craft vendors will have unique, hand-crafted products available for purchase, such as Red Mule Grits – whose corn meal, grits etc. are ground by a mule, pure honey collected from local hives, handmade soaps and salves etc.

October 26, 2013 | Fall Festival & Kids Costume Contest  10am – 6pm

Shop handmade crafts, family-friendly entertainment, face painting by a clown a Children’s Costume Contest and more fall festival games.  Costume Contest time TBD.

 

Other Group Events

Southern Belle Farm is host to many events throughout the year.  If you are planning a reception, family reunion, class reunion etc. and are looking for a serene outdoor setting in the metro Atlanta area – Southern Belle Farm is the place!  Conveniently located south of Atlanta, approx. 6 miles off Interstate 75, visitors and guests will enjoy the country setting and small town charm here in historic McDonough, Georgia.
