Southern Belle Farm was chosen to host the 6th Annual Toast to Tourism by the Henry County Convention and Visitors Bureau!  We are honored to host such an event!

The event will be held Thursday, September 16th from 6:00 – 8:00pm. This event is free and open to the public.

Toast to Tourism will give folks a sneak peak at the farm’s Fall Attractions…walk through the corn maze, get a hayride tour of the farm, and catch a glimpse of the miniature racing pigs at ‘Oinker Stadium’!  Plus there will be many other Tourism Partners from here with in Henry County that will showcase their restaurants, attractions and activities.

We have participated in this event in previous years, and it is always such a blast!  Last year it was  held at Club One at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, and there were so many other tourism partners present showcasing their venue, attractions, dining, accommodations etc. right here in Henry County, Georgia.  This is a great way for folks to come out and see what all this county has to offer local residents, and tourist alike.

There are so many benefits of supporting your local Henry County CVB Tourism Partners….  cheaper travel expenses, support your neighbors who own and operate the local business and getting to know your neighbors!  There is already so much to enjoy here – some you may not even be aware of.  So be sure to join us for the Toast to Tourism to get the scoop on all there is to see and do right here in beautiful Henry County!

Southern Belle Farm is located at 1658 Turner Church Road, McDonough, Ga 30252.  Directions from the historic McDonough Square – take GA Hwy. 20 (towards Conyers) for approx. 1.5 miles and turn right onto Turner Church Road.  Stay straight through stop sign crossing over Airline Rd. and the farm will be on your left.  (Look for the silos!)

Now that Labor Day is behind us, you can go ahead and get your home in the Fall spirit!  During the Fall, we have so many useful items that can be used in Fall Decorating found right here on the farm.  Corn stalks, hay bales, pumpkins-of all colors, shapes and sizes, beautiful wildflower bouquets and more.  Get creative and see what you can come up with and set the tone for the Fall Season.

She better enjoy these lazy days of Summer because pretty soon she is going to be a busy lady in the Dairy Barn.  She will be sharing with all of our school-aged friends where milk comes from, and demonstrating how cows are milked.  This Southern Lady really does enjoy the kids visiting the farm!

Bonfires are great fun for group get-togethers with family and friends!  Enjoying the outdoors on a Fall evening could not be better spent than right here on Southern Belle Farm around a fire ring.  Groups of all ages can enjoy these campfire pits!  Some favorite things to do around the fire are of course making yummy Smores, roasting hot dog weenies, strumming the guitar and singing songs, or just sitting back relaxing enjoying the country setting!

Farm Heritage Day and Antique Tractor & Engine Show is a special event here at Southern Belle Farm.  We strive to preserve farming and honor those who have played a role in this way of life.  There will be a variety of farming & life skill demonstrations and entertainment. This is a fun, laid-back day to enjoy with the family and see just how far farming has progressed from generation to generation.

Farm Heritage Day will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010.

We are seeking demonstrators of various types of farming and farm-life skills, such as:

• Corn grinding
• Cloth Weaving
• Spinning
• Pottery Turning
• Cotton Ginning
• Broom Making
• Sawing logs
• Plowing mules
• Quilting

…and the like.  If you or someone you know has  a skill that would fit this event – please contact Ansley Glenn at Ansley@SouthernBelleFarm.com for information to participate!  Hand-made craft booths available.

We are accepting entries for the Antique Tractor & Engine Show. Antique Tractors (restored and in original condition), Hit-n-Miss engines etc. are all welcome in the Antique show!  Come show off your collection!

...in Southern Belle Farm's Pumpkin Patch

What came first, the Pumpkin or the Pumpkin seed?

It’s never too early to get into the Fall Spirit!  We’ve got several varieties of pumpkins growing in the patch this year – some orange, some large and small, some funny shapes…there’s something for everyone!  We look forward to your visit to our Pumpkin Patch this Fall.  Southern Belle Farm will open the gates for our Fall Season on weekends starting September 18th thru November 14th, 2010.  So make plans to visit our Pumpkin patch conveniently located just south of Atlanta, Georgia.

We also have some beautiful bouquet flowers growing, and you will be able to pick your own flowers right from the Flower Patch.

We will have you covered for all of your fresh, Fall decorations!  Hay bales, corn stalks, flowers, pumpkins etc.  See you real soon!

Fun & Unique Birthday Parties on the farm!

For Birthday parties and Campfires for 25 people or more* – you get the Reserved Party space or a Campfire pit FREE!!!  That’s a $40 – $50 savings! This will be a party your guests will not forget!  You will have the reserved party area for 2 hours.

CAMPFIRES are great for Birthday Parties, Youth Groups, Scout Troops, Family Reunions, Church Outings, Corporate Gatherings etc.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES on the farm are fun for all ages!  These parties can either be held in a reserved area under the barn/pavilion with picnic tables, or at a Campfire pit with hay bale seating!

You will receive the special party guests admission rate of $10/person no matter the age.  This will give your party access to participate in all the Fall Activities here on the farm.  You must have the minimum of 25 in your party to receive this special – and remember to book by 9/15/10!*
