Southern Belle Farm is located in the heart of Henry County, Georgia – in the countryside near McDonough. Our 200 acre working farm was established in 1938. Southern Belle Farm is a great place to come for an educational ‘Farm Fresh’ experience — we have a lot to offer on our school field trips!
Our cow, a true "Southern Belle", would like for the children to see where milk comes from, so she does a milking demonstration for them.
We have a cornfield MAiZE where "kids" (from age 2 to 92) can get lost and have fun finding their way out. Take a hayride around our farm, making stops at the cotton field and pumpkin patch (and pick a pumpkin!).
Of course, our farm animals would love a visit from the kids, as well.
Our open air barn has picnic tables for a student-provided sack lunch – and we provide the ice cream!
Field trips are $6 per child. They include the milking demonstration, hay ride, cornfield MAiZE, a pumpkin, and ice cream!
Teachers and bus drivers are FREE! We welcome all parents and siblings at $6 per person.
Cornfield MAiZE
Come get lost in our corn maize. We have a 6 acre MAiZE with lots of turns and twist for you to find your way out. The MAiZE has paths for all age groups to explore, and we can provide specialized “Adventure Passports” to make your visit a learning experience.
Hay Ride to the Pumpkin Patch
Come enjoy a hayride around the farm. It makes a stop in the pumpkin patch. You’ll see the cornfield MAiZE, cotton field, and a great view of Southern Belle Farm.
This year the pumpkin patch has been carefully maintained and watched over by our new pumpkin farmer, Jeffery Floyd. When the hayride arrives at the pumpkin patch, you are free to walk the paths and pick out your favorite pumpkin.
